How to trap a chipmunk?


To catch chipmunk may be a little bit difficult, but efficiency in the use of your trap can make it so easy to caught or prevent chipmunk. Usually the chipmunk around you has a route. When wanting to catch a chipmunk, set the trap on its route or around any hole it has borne around your surroundings. To effectively catch chipmunk, it is better to use bait. Chipmunk has characteristic interest for the seed of sunflower, fruits. Chipmunks also loves nut, making peanuts and peanut butter a major bait to use. We have the 1-door trap and the 2-door trap. While the 1-door trap is cheaper, the 2-door boost a better catch rate. There are several of the setting up the trap which start from:


Locating the perfect spot for you to place the trap. For instance, the edge of the holes where chipmunks passes through.

Look for an attractive bait such as peanut butter, put in the trap and then set the trap at a strategic location.

Catch the chipmunk and then handle with care to avoid being bitten and also use glove to avoid being infected.

It also paramount to check the local laws of that environment on how to dispose the chipmunks.



Another form of trap is the bucket trap which is also efficient in trapping chipmunks. Different items such as a piece of wood, a large bucket (plastic), a small stick and then a bait. Procedures in catching the Chipmunks are:


Locating the best spot for you to trap the chipmunk.

The little stick is use for trigger (once, the stick is trigger, the trap catches the chipmunk)

Then place the ramp which is the longer wood on the edge of the bucket and in turn the bait.

Then catch.

There are other ways of catch chipmunks which includes catching it in the hole.

Therefore, with these methods, you can trap any chipmunk.
